My old company owes creditors, I'm being harrassed

I'd appreciate any advice whatsover. I worked for a company and they issued me a credit card in which before I was laid off they had me use to pay bills. The balance is now approx 20-30 thousand dollars and the credit card company has harrassed me by calling me at home saying I'm responsible, saying it would go on my credit, etc......Even though I am not an officer of the company. I told them this and they didn't care. What are my options here?

Secondly the company rented a van monthly and since the owners are usually absent the rental went in the companies name but with my name all over the contract such as name, address, etc. Now the rental company is calling me at home saying it is going to collections next week. I told them I have been laid off since November and asked why it was still rented in my name if I don't work there. They didn't have an answer. Who is responsible there? I have no control over what the company does. Who is responsible for what I see as something fraudulent?

I'd appreciate any advice. I don't know what to do and don't seem to have any control over this situation since I can't make the company pay their bills.
