I am a disbarred attorney

I had an extra-marital affair with a married woman.

I was disbarred for gross immoral conduct, violation of oath of office, and violation of Canons 1 and 7 of Rule 1.01 (A lawyer shall not engage in unlawful, dishonest, immoral or deceitful conduct) of the Code of Professional Responsibility.

if judges and even justices commit wrong such as bribery, they are only admonished, fined, suspended, only a few are dismissed. Even if dismissed, they are not disbarred. The rules are more strictly applied against lawyers but not to judges, justices.

you can still apply (naman) to be re-admitted to the practice of law.

yes bro Im trying to apply for readmission but Its very hard. i have to prove daw again that I am of good moral character. My situation is very humiliating. Even if Im reinstated, I doubt if my former clients still would come to me

pero since 2nd year ka pa lang medyo maingat sila sa pag reinstate.

buhos mo muna sama ng loob mo sa mga orgs mentioned by prettylaw.

also, f@ck your old clients. get new ones and start over. pero pag pinakita mo namang maayos ka mag trabaho babalik at babalik din yung mga old ones, specially if magalaing ka and you give what they want.

hi disbarred lawyer, i hope you're already reinstated by this time, since 2008 pa ang last post dito.

sana nga walang madisbar dito, ang hirap kaya kunin ang five-character pre-fix na ATTY. I'm just a new lawyer, just passed the 2009 Bar Exams kaya feel ko pa ang hirap para makamit ang estado ko ngayon. I'm still on Cloud 9.

Bakit ganoon na kailangan pang tulong ng mga politicians or gov't officials para makabalik sa pagka abogado pag na disbarred, di ba prang di dapat kasi weare corrupting them at taliwas sa pinag aralan natin na huwag gagawa ng ganyan. Well, sabi nga bilang maging judge sa isang city kailangan may backer si mayor, pero kung puede lang sana sariling qualification lang. di naba talaga maiwasan ang corruption kahit sa Judiciary. Kalungkot naman na may na didisbar na lawyers pero IF sila (yong mga na mention na ay admonished lang parusa), kasaklap talaga. Hanga ngayon diko pa rin lubos maunawaan ang Immoral at grossly immoral, parehong Immoral lang naman, kaya dapat pag may chicks huwag pababayaan, kailangan alagaan ng husto at ibigay lahat kailangan, pag di kaya huwag nang ma temp (kaya lang temptation is always there) tulad sabi ng dating Fiscal na prof ko, straight daw siya kaya lang pag isang truck na na pera mag give in na daw, hehehe!! yong isang seksi na fiscal na prof ko sabi rin malay niyo sila mga J.... wala kaya silang other woman... tanungin niyo ako di ko rin alam kasi sabi never say anyhting against them, may ears daw ang lupa at hangin.
