many are poised to go back to the traditional method..mashado raw
kasi nagiging parang NURSING board ang BAR exams

may nakapagsabi sakin na kung medyo mababa o mataas ang result ng bar exam ngayon balik daw sa essay type question method pero kung pantay lang o kagaya ng sa essay type question method ang result tuloy tuloy na ang MCQ..

ang SC ngayon parang babae pa iba iba ng desisyon. From the Cityhood rulings hanggang dito sa Bar Exams. Ano ba kuya?

i think...and would like to think that MCQ would last at least for 2 years before they can change or revert back because this is a part of a 5 year bar reform program so they would not waste their time and efforts in formulating MCQ questions, database, committee meetings etc only to be used only once....nagpapalakas lang ng loob kasi im preparing for MCQ type on 2012 Bar...at any rate barristers has no choice but to take whatever is given to them

according to my friend whose gf took this years bar exam, MCQ parin daw. however, dipa sure kung mcq parin sa 2013. kahit mcq or essay pa yan, ganun parin namn cguro ung pressure na mafefeel ng mga examiners. right? dapat prepared padin

i doubt if they will revert to the old system, mcq is here to stay, we can speculate but why should the supreme court implement reforms in the first place and suddenly return to all essay test?. I can only predict that the result of this year exam may have to many passers or to many flunkers, since it is the first time they field the mcq.

Nolasco said the decision whether UST will still host the bar exams next year is yet to be decided by Associate Justice Martin Villarama, chairman of the 2012 committee on bar examinations, because the memorandum of agreement is renewable every year.

it would still be mcq for 2012, its part of a five year program. they would only evaluate the same after the 5 year period and then decide whether to revert to the essay type or not. at any rate we must all be prepared be it essay or mcq.

Still MCQ. But there's a big possibility that they will scrap the memorandum part of the exam and revert it to essay format. So, MCQ and Essay daw and instead of the 60/40, 50/50 ang weight. Hey do you know any rumors about the 2012 bar exam schedule?

"2012 BAR EXAMS PROPOSED FORMAT!!

"The Office of the 2012 Bar Exams Committee chaired by Justice Martin S. Villarama is studying the possibility of removing the Memorandum & Legal Opinion writing tests implemented in the 2011 Bar Exams and making the 2012 Bar exams composed of 50% MCQs & 50% Essay Questions, with every subject having the said 2 components. Included in the proposal is the idea of reverting back to the old schedule of having only 2 exams per Sunday.

"Personally, I am in favor of the proposal. I believe that the old essay-type format which was introduced by Justice E. Finley Johnson and which we had in the Bar Exams for over a century is still the best way to test the analytical skills and reasoning ability of Bar examinees in solving hypothetical legal problems. The problem with having 100% essay questions is the subjectivity involved in checking the answers & the fact that you can only give a limited number of problems per Bar subject.

"Hence, the proposal of having 50% MCQs & 50% Essay Questions would be a welcome development for the 2012 Bar Exams. First, the subjectivity in checking essay answers would be balanced off by having 50% MCQs. Second, this subjectivity may also be minimized if there will be at least 2 or 3 examiners who will separately and independently check the answers. Third, the limited number of problems that can be given in the essay portion will be balanced off by more questions in the MCQ portion.

"Moreover, the idea of limiting the questions that can be asked to the detailed subject syllabi that were introduced in the 2011 Bar exams should also be continued as they prevent crazy and out-of-this-world questions."
