Arresto Menor

I have received a final demand of my outstanding loan balance but as much as i want to settle the amount, i cant for i am currently unemployed.i am very willing to settle the amount but i just don't have my own resources right now. Can i make a written request that i may be given a few more months to settle the amount?can i ask for payment arrangements?Please help me...
