Hindi nakabayad ng bills and rent

ask lang po for advice...my family rents an apartment unit and medyo nagkaproblem financially so 3 months na kami d nakabayad. disconnected din po water and electricity. we are actually still willing to pay and go back to the apartment but we are still not able to because of family issues. we informed the owner of the situation and expressed genuine will to pay. but now, since it has been a while and we haven't gone back there, the owner is telling us that he will take all our things left inside the unit as payment for the bills. technically, we only owe a month of rent since we gave 1 month dep and 1 month adv before we rented. we did not sign any contract that says this..in fact we did not sign a contract at all because we were not given one.

any advice about what we can do?

send a letter that says you do not consent to her taking your belongings and demand that she allow you to get them back. then try to negotiate a compromise. your leverage is that you will file a case of theft or robbery against her.
