I once sent my resume to the email address of a company I was applying to. Last week, I tried to google my name and was surprised to see my RESUME on the search results. It appears as a content of a certain website, and my personal information can be fully viewed by everyone, from picture to home address to schools I've been to.I found out that the same company runs that website, and the resumes of the other applicants were also visible. As a very private person,I really felt violated. I sent an email to the company and demanded an explanation from them. I sent them emails a few times (requesting them to immediately and permanently remove my resume from their website), but they only responded after ONE WHOLE WEEK (after my 4th email, which states that I would report the problem to the authorities should they keep on ignoring my complaint). In their email, they said that an IT staff made an error by posting the list of candidates' resumes online where it should have been on a private network. They apologized and said that they will do all they can to rectify the situation. However, I admit that my disappointment has only doubled because I don't think they're sincere. In my opinion, the staff's negligence is one thing, but their very late response to a very sensitive issue is another thing. Can this company be sued for violation of privacy?

yes, a cause of action can be established against the employee and the company.
