With the Philippine Bar Exams just a couple of months away, bar hopefuls are now making the most out of their time by participating in review classes and acquiring supplementary materials that will help them in the exams. Realizing the need for practical, up-to-date materials, FEU Institute of Law Dean Andres D. Bautista and his colleague Marie Antonette Quiogue came up with the color-coded Bar Review Companion series, aimed to help reviewees in their bar preparation.
Published by Anvil Publishing under the Anvil Law Book Series, the series is a compilation of all the pertinent “black letter” laws that are part of the official bar examination coverage. Aside from collecting updated laws up to December 2009, the authors have also identified the corresponding sections of these laws that have been the subject of previous bar examination questions. This helps bar hopefuls manage their time better by organizing their study materials in line with the materials presented in the books.
The volumes are broken down into chapters that concentrates on provisions that are most likely to come out during the bar exams. The series also focuses on the basics of fundamental legal principles, which the examinee should know to be able to answer the questions during the exams. The authors have also included important laws that, although not expressly included in the coverage, the students need to be familiar with.
Titles in the series include Bar Review Companion: Labor Laws and Social Legislations, Bar Review Companion: Civil Law, Bar Review Companion: Political Law, and Bar Review Companion: Remedial Law.
