can i ask support for my child now since she will be going to school this coming june?! her birth cert was not signed by him and we're not married also. can u help me in my case?. Sad

send a demand letter for support. if he does not respond, you will need to first establish filiation, or risk filing a criminal case and hope he admits.

thanks for the reply... would it be better if i'll give a demand letter when i'll meet up with him in person?! or just meet up and tell him first on what's my plan..i'm really confused and my family are not willing to help with me but i believe that my child deserves a good education and he can give that to her.. will he be interested in having the child use his last name? the best evidence of filiation is an affidavit of acknowledgment coupled with an authority to use name of the father. that way your child's right to support is locked in.

this should be your first concern if he did not sign the birth certificate.

hi... i tried contacting him now.. called him once, answered it nd hung up.. called him again but he won't answer it.. i also texted him a couple of times but still gt no reply from him.. would it be better if i'll just send him a demand letter? after this, what's my next step if in case he still doesn't want to!? help!!

send a letter via registered mail or personal visit. after this, it's choosing between filing a civil case for filiation and support or a criminal case for economic abuse.
