I gave birth year 2008. May pirma ng tatay ang birth certificate ng anak ko. And for the past 2 years hindi na sya nagpapakita sa amin at wala na rin akong balita sa kanya. I got married February 2011. Gusto ng asawa ko na palitan ng apelyido nya ang apelyido ng anak ko.
Gusto ko pong malaman anu-anong papers ang kailangan naming ma-accomplish and yung step by step procedures and durations ng adoption process. Gusto namin maayos lahat habang hindi pa nag-aaral ang anak namin.

Confused on the venue to where the petition must be filed...
We are planning to live in Cavite where my husband resides, pero for now dito pa rin kami ng anak ko sa Manila.

Sec. 6. Venue. – The petition for adoption shall be filed with the Family Court of the province or city where the prospective adoptive parents reside.

Sec. 20. Venue. – The petition shall be filed with the Family Court of the city or province where the adoptee resides.

sec. 6 refers to adoption.

sec. 20 refers to revocation of adoption.

you have to file it where you live at the time of filing of the petition. the dswd will be visiting your house.
