How to solved GENDER ERROR on Birth Certificate?

hello po,
Problema ko po ay yung gender ko, MALE po nakalagay sa birth certificate ko, eh FEMALE po ako. Alam ko po na dapat siya mag-undergo ng court, pero ang QUESTION ko po ay "dapat ba talaga dun ko ayusin kung saan ako pinanganak?" Kasi po nandito na ako sa manila kasama yung magulang ko at nag-aaral din ako dito. Gusto ko na kasing maayos yang problima na yan ngayong year nato sana, wala po akong time pumunta sa probinsya. Pwede po ba dito ko nalang ayusin sa Manila? at tsaka anu pa po ang mga requirements na dapat kong ihanda?

it has to be filed where your certificate was filed, which normally is where you were born.

that depends on which lawyer you retain. court costs and publication will be about 10-15k

OMG, why is it so expensive. I'm only a student. I don't have yet money to pay that amount. I want only a public attorney.
Can I ask also if how long does it takes all in all(hearing, publication and others). Because, if it only done in less than a month I will do it this summer. Tnx again.

haha, sorry. my legal fees for a case like this would make you something worse than OMG then. it takes about 1 year.

what is this for? for something like the PRC or the DFA, they're used to these kinds of problems and sometimes they allow you to just file an affidavit that you are one and the same person named in the birth certificate.

Hello po... I have the same problem din po and I'm planning to file a petition. 1 year po ba talaga? Hindi na po ba pwedeng madaliin? Kailangan ko po kasi para maka take ako sa cpa board exams...'di po daw pwede ang affidavit of discrepancies...

i recommend you write a letter addressed to the board of examiners and hopefully they will allow it.

I have the same problem how to changed my gender? What if i have to get immediately passport but my gender is in birth MALE instead it should be FEMALE? Do i need to wait one year to fixed it and get a passport?

sir,is there any possible way na mapabilis ang pag correct sa gender problem na hnd aabot ng 1year? kasi po mag aaply ako sa canadian embassy for permanent residence at un ang problem ko ngaun.

RA 10172 has been in effect since Nov. 2012, which authorizes the city or municipal civil registrar or the consul general to correct clerical or typo errors on date of birth or sex of a person appearing in the Civil Register without the need of a judicial order. Amendment can now be done by filing an affidavit with support documents.

The petition and its supporting papers shall be filed in 3 copies to be distributed as follows: first copy to the concerned city or municipal civil registrar, or the consul general; second copy to the Office of the Civil Registrar General and third copy to the petitioner.
