Hi, I'd like to ask assistance regarding an issue I am facing. I have a domestic partner and we are both gay. He adopted a kid and placed his name as the legal guardian from the birth certificate of of the kid. Apparently, after he moved overseas to work, we lost communication and he decided to cut the ties. I have been taking care of the kid since they moved to my place up until now that we have decided to separate ways. He never sent any support for the kid and wants to get the kid now(2yrs old). From what I see, I don't have a legal right but do I have any right for the kid from since he never gave any support? Thanks and more power!

You don't have a right to keep the child, but you may ask for reimbursement from him (he is the legal guardian on paper) of whatever amounts you spent on the child by filing a collection case against him. https://www.alburovillanueva.com/proven-ways-debt-collection I just hope that you were able to keep track of your expenses as well as the proof of the amounts that you actually shelled out, because you still have to establish the amount that he supposedly owes you before you can legally enforce it.
