GOOD DAY... I WOULD LIKE TO SEEK CONSULT. I'M ANNE, 29 YRS OLD. I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY PARTNER (we’re not married). WE HAD A FIGHT TWO MONTHS AGO. HE THINKS I HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH MY CO WORKER. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I HAVE NO RELATIONSHIP WITH THAT PERSON OR TO ANY PERSON AT ALL! I WAS ALWAYS EXPLAINING THAT TO HIM. HOWEVER, HE MAKES AN ISSUE OF IT. AND HE MAKES OTHER ISSUES ABOUT ME MAKING HIM HAVING DOUBTS. I LEFT OUR APARTMENT AND STAYED WITH MY PARENTS AGAIN. WE HAVE TWO KIDS (2 YRS OLD AND 6 MONTHS OLD). WE FOUGHT MORE OFTEN AT TEXT MESSAGES. SOMETIMES, HE SEEMS A POSITIVE PERSON TO TALK TO.. SOMETIMES, HE IS ANGRY AND PUTTING BLAMES ON ME AND MY CO WORKER. HE ALWAYS BLAME THAT PERSON BEING THE CAUSE OF OUR SEPARATION. MY PARTNER ACCUSES ME OF THIRD PARTY, AND HAVING TO MAKE HIM SUFFER OF WAITING FOR ME AND MY KIDS TO GO BACK TO HIM. HE ALWAYS CLAIMS THAT HE IS CHANGING FOR A BETTER HIM, GOOD ENOUGH TO BE A FATHER AND A PARTNER AGAIN. I DON'T BELIEVE HE CAN DO THAT BECAUSE HE GOT AN ATTITUDE. I PERSONALLY DOESN'T WANT TO RETURN TO HIM BECAUSE I AM AFRAID THAT MY KIDS AND MY OWN'S SAFETY IS AT RISK AND I'M TIRED OF DEALING WITH HIS KIND OF ATTITUDE. NOW HE IS MAKING THREATS TO MY CO WORKER THAT IF I WILL NOT RETURN TO HIM, HE WILL SURELY LOOK AFTER MY COWORKER (DEATH THREAT). AND HE EVEN MADE A THREAT TO ME THAT IF I WILL NOT GO BACK TO HIM, I WILL DISAPPEAR (DEAD)... WHAT LEGAL COURSE I SHOULD TAKE AGAINST HIM?

First of all, advise him to seek counselling with a psychologist. Jealousy is a difficult to deal with. He has to understand that trust is very important in relationships. More often than not, jealousy is just in the person's mind.

However, threatening you and your co-worker is a different story. You can have it reported sa police (ipa-blotter mo na muna).

For the sake of the good times you shared together, help him seek help (counselling with a psychologist) or refer books to him about relationship. I would suggest, look up Dr. Phil on google. He is a world renowned psychologist. You may check out this link http://www.drphil.com/articles/article/343 and refer it to him.

Best regards,
Atty. Katrina
