Arresto Menor

Hi po, just some insights on how to close a case.

My father in law was involved in an incident wherein he allegedly slapped a 10 yr old last April 27. The case were discussed in brgy but no agreement was made because the mother of the child wanted to pursue the case. On the same day, they went to the police station and was advised to file the case on Monday.

We didn't hear anything from them until May 7 when we received an invitation from the brgy for a settlement with the mother.

On May 8, they discussed and finally agreed to settle and will not pursue the case.

But unfortunately, the case was still filed and now on 2nd hearing and we were asked for a counter affidavit and the complainant did not appear on the 1st hearing.

What shall we do from there?
