if he has children and a wife, it is they who have the right to inherit from him. if none, his parents. if none, his brothers and sisters

Reclusion Perpetua

There is an order of succession where the direct line (ascendants and descendants) is preferred over the collateral line (siblings, uncles/aunts, nephews/nieces). https://www.alburovillanueva.com/wills-succession-inheritance If there are still heirs in the direct line (such as parents), then all relatives in the collateral line, including you, will be disqualified from inheriting, even if you were the ones who paid the remaining balance of the lot. In such case, all you will be entitled to is only to get reimbursed by the deceased's estate for the amounts that you actually spent, but not inherit the lot.
