Hi attorneys,
Ang boyfriend ko po ay american. Nakasal siya dito sa pilipinas sa isang pilipina. Nagfile siya ng divorced sa US and granted na po. Gusto po namin na magpakasal at tumira dito sa pilipinas. Gusto ko pong malaman kung pwede kaming magpakasal since divorced na siya sa dati niyang asawa o kelangan pa niyang magfile ng petition for recognition of divorce?
Sana po masagot po agad ang tanong ko. Salamat po.

I would recommend to you that he should first have that divorce recognized here in the philippines else you will be both vulnerable to a charge of bigamy. under philippine records his first marriage to a filipina is still subsisting
