Is the following stipulation in an employment contract of a teacher legal?

"After termination of this contract, the employee shall not engage in any work similar to the nature and/or directly related to the work designation stated in this contract within a period of one (1) year."

not really mandatory but if malayo ang lugar na lilipatan mo and hindi sya ma consider na competitor, you can question the validity of that non compete

These non-compete contracts are legal, https://www.alburovillanueva.com/must-employment-contracts-hiring-process but determine first kung may history yung company nyo na nagdedemanda pag nagva-violate ng non-compete agreement. Litigation is somehow taxing, so kung wala naman nademanda before dahil sa non-compete, then you determine for yourself kung willing ka mag-risk na magpa-employ sa work of similar nature na pinagbabawalan kang pasukan.
