advise po pls.

is there such a thing as kulong when it comes to unpaid loans? i issued checks.unfortunately, hindi ko po sya napondohan due to financial problems. may mga letters po akong natatanggap from law firms stating that if i wont pay, they would file a case against me and a warrant of arrest. syempre po ako natakot nung mabasa ko ung mga sulat from those law firms. ano po ba dapat kung gawin? takot po kasi ako makulong. at sabi pa ipapublish daw po name ko sa newspapers at pati sa tv.

for an unpaid loan, no. but for issuing an unfunded check, yes, it is considered a criminal case.

if that's really a lawyer writing to you, they've gone overboard by saying they will publish your name.

try to avoid personally receiving the notice of dishonor. if they cannot prove that you received the notice, a bouncing check case will not prosper, but you are still liable for the loan.

Hindi ka makukulong. One of our constitutional guarantee is the no imprisonment for non payment of debt. 1987 Constitution of the Ph - Article 3 section 20, No person shall be imprisoned for debt xxx.

Bouncing Checks Law aka Batas Pambansa Blg. 22. Labag sa batas ang pag iisue ng chekeng walang katumbas na pera na idineposito sa bangko. delikado kasi at harmful sa economiya natin ang pag cicirculate ng kuntawagin nila ay "garbage notes" o checkeng walang halaga.
