Would like to ask if just because the sales person decided to increase his sales quota it would automatically mean it is a promotion.
-we have different levels of quota in our company
500k - junior sales executive
700k - sales executive
900k - senior sales executive
-the jr sales executive has a quota of 500k and if he feels he is ready for a higher quota, he will express his intent to the management to increase his sales quota either to 700k or to 900k, it all depends on the junior sales executive
-if the jr sales exec decides to jump to the 900k he will be a senior sales exec..
-the title is tied to the quota
questions:
1. if this happens, is this considered a promotion even if the employee is the one who decided to become a senior sales executive?
2. is it true that once you change the title, such as this, it is already a promotion?
3. what is the best term for this type of "moving up"
