Hi there,

I bought a parcel of land at one of FLI project. But when i claim the land title, i notice a typo error on my first name. I complain with FLI and they show me all the documents and affidavit submitted to RD is correct. Meaning the typo error on my name was made in RD. I ask the RD if they can correct the erroneous entry, but somebody told me, it can be done thru court order only.
So i look for a lawyer to assist me in filing a petition in court for the correction of my name in the land title. I found one, he take my case and ask me a 20k payment right away. I ask if there's additional expenses i will be charge, he said no more and his office will just call me when the hearing start. After a year nothing happen and on the second year of follow up, my case finally start in court. At first the lawyer ask additional payment of 10k for court publication as required in case hearing and later he ask me an additional of 5k per appearance in court.
My question is, what's the process of case like this and how long it will take in court? and what is the charges i should pay with the lawyer and in the court as well? Really appreciate all the inputs.

Thank you.
