I'm trying to learn about copyright violations. So please if anyone can answer my questions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hope someone can help me out with some of the copyright laws. I've tried googling some other cases but some have very conflicting results.

- If I have a site / blog that shows tv shows from our local channels by embedding the videos on my blog, would I violate the copyright law? To add info. I did not upload or reproduce the video. I just embed the video on my blog.
- Should the copyright owner inform me first about the violation or can they take me to court without serving me any notice?
