I had cctv installed in my place after discovering some disturbing incidents happened in my place while I was away (no one is left in the house) like broken appliances, missing items and the mysterious appearance of my neighbor's wallet in my place (wallet's owner claims there was money in it but I found it without money except ids and coins). The wallet's owner (my neighbor) accused me of stealing his money at first. After installing cctv, I left my place for a week. Upon returning, lo and behold the 2 cctv cameras were broken. The cctv footage revealed that the suspect noticed the cctv cameras immediately upon entering my place and covered her face before exiting. The suspect came back a few hours later and destroyed the cameras. The suspect is the house helper of my neighbor (who owns the wallet). She initially denied ever entering my place and destroying the cameras, until the first brgy hearing. The suspect apologized for breaking in and for destroying cameras. However, she continues to deny ever destroying my appliances, stealing some small-value personal items and planting my neighbor's wallet inside. In other words she only admitted to acts caught in the camera. I didn't agree on settlement in the brgy and will file the case with the police. Her excuse for entering was that she heard a noise inside my place and was curious and that my door was unlocked (both statements are untrue as seen in cctv footage). I do not believe her excuses and think she is lying to save face. I highly suspect she is also responsible for the crimes that happened in my place prior to having cctv installed. I am wondering if this suspect has grounds for denying those acts committed before I had cctv installed? May lusot po ba sya sa kaso? What can be the minimum or maximum punishment for this? Thank you in advance.
