Question please atty, my friend is the father of 2 daughters 6yo and 2yo. The mother just left to Qatar to work, they are not married and have been separated for more than 1 yr now. Mother insists kids should live with her mother (lola). However, lola has a male partner and the father does not feel that the kids are safe there. More importantly, the eldest wants to stay with the father and lola (father's side). Does father have the right for custody?

since they are unmarried, custody lies solely with the mother. in order for the father to have custody, he has to prove in court that the mother is unfit to have custody of the children.
