Hi,
Need ko lang po advise regarding my mom's situation.
My mom is 64 years old with diabetes and high blood pressure. This year she has been confined to the hospital 3x.
On her 2nd time sa hospital nung day na lalabas na po sya she was sitting on the wheelchair being pushed by the hospital attendant. Tumayo po sya sa wheelchair and started to walk but without her noticing di po naayos nung attendant yung step ng wheelchair na nagcause para sumabit isang paa ng mom ko dun sa step.
My mom immediately felt the pain dun sa foot na nasabit pero di po nya pinansin and they went back home.
That night namaga po yung paa ng mom ko na nasabit to the point na it was so painful. The following day nagpa xray po sila sa same hospital and the result was my mom got a comminuted fracture dun sa food na sumabit sa step ng wheelchair.
The nurses sa same hospital urged my mom to have the food casted but my mom refused because of lack of money.
I asked my sister and my mom why they did not immediately reported it to the ER the same day na nangyari yung incident para icover nila expenses ng medication and expenses but my mom said naawa sya dun sa attendant baka mawalan ng work.
Now it has been almost 2 months after the incident, pinacast po naming foot ng mom plus a lot of meds. Every month we have to buy around 9 thousand worth of medicine plus the payment for her ortho and the cast.
Di pa po gumagaling yung fracture and the ortho is even suggesting operation. May sugat din ang mom dun sa part na may fracture which the ortho fear baka lumabas sa skin yung dulo ng bone na nafracture.
My sister finally reported the incident sa admitting ng hospital on the 3rd time naconfine mom ko sa same hospital. Admitting told her na iforward nila yung issue sa Legal department nila. Nakalabas na po sila mom sa hospital but there was nothing from the hospital regarding what they would do with mom's case.
My mom is suffering because of the negligence. My mom is basically handicapped right now because she cannot walk. Plus the fact that we have to spend around 10 thousand just for her medication not knowing if makakalakad pa sya.
Now ang question ko po is... If we would file a lagal complaint on ground of negligence ng staff sa hospital can our case stand knowing my sister reported it only after a month na nangyari incident? And our only proof is my mom's testimony and possibly cctv that captured the incident sa hospital if there is.
