my position has changed but not the salary

Hi po,

Tanong ko lang po, first job ko po kasi and i was hired as cadet engineer (minimum lang po ang sahod) then after ilang days lang po, nilagay ako ng boss ko as Project In Charge (15,000 po ata starting pay) at magtatatlong buwan na po pero hindi pa rin po itinataas ang sahod ko. ano po ba pwede kong gawin? Please help.

Also, can i make that a reason for immediate resignation?

Talk to your employer first and ask for the reason as to why the salary adjustment has not been applied yet. As long as they can provide a reasonable explanation and a reasonable timetable as to when they can finally adjust your pay, immediate resignation should be the furthest thing on your mind.

If they provide inaction towards your concern in an inordinate amount of time, however, that is the time where you may contemplate resigning from your work.

Alternatively, you may want to review your employment contract as to the terms and conditions agreed upon there just to make sure there are no clauses that may be triggered when you resign immediately.
