Hello everyone.

Can agricultural land paid for by a person since the 60s, 70s, 80s be later in the 90s and onwards reclassified as forest land?

Do you mean "Timber land"? (I guess you DON'T mean "Stewardship".)
Why do you want that??
I believe it's allowed to plant trees at land classified as Agricultural, at least fruit trees Smile anyway.
(I don't know if it was a law change or just a suggestion to make it possible to Title "Timber land") At least some years ago it was impossible to Title "Timber land", which is BAD compared to "Agricultural".

In the tax declaration and the assessor's computerized records it shows "frsty", whereas on the paper record in the assessors books it says agricultural land with "corn", "rice" and "other crops". I don't know if it's stewardship of the property - it might be.

Then it don't seem to be "Srewardship".
I GUESS it's registered confusing like that because it has been Timber land/forestry, which has been CHANGED to farmland use.
(Note what I wrote about titling in earlier post. Titling add SAFETY and by that also value to your land. It add much value, while the cost is rather small.)

Why do you want to change the classification?
What do you want to use it for?

Hello,

Reclassification of land occurs - from agricultural to non-agricultural (residential, industrial, commercial). This happens at the LGU level. Go to the Sangguniang Bayang and see what ordinances were passed in regard to land classification or conversion. However what you wrote is very interesting since forest land or timber is land belonging to the public domain and can't be disposed of. Kindly clarify with the assessor's office which record is correct.

"Kindly clarify with the assessor's office which record is correct. "
Or if aiming at titling, NOT ask and just hope they look at the "agricultural" note Smile
