I already have an 11y.o daughter. Got pregnant when I was 18 but the father and I never got married. When she was born, my parents didnt allow the father to sign the acknowledgement at the back of the birth certificate where hospitals usually give out to fill out by the parents of the child. So my mom signed it. The name of the father isn't written in anywhere on the birth certificate. The "Father's Info" part states UNKNOWN. So, just my name as the mother, my daughter's name and my mom's name on the acknowledgement part of the birth certificate. Anyway, he never stood up to support my kid.

Years have passed and I met my now livein partner, we're not yet married so im still using my own last name. We are blessed to have 2 kids, they're using my partner's lastname and the dad is now present on the birth cert of my two kids. I've no problem with that.So to sum it up, i have three kids now and my partner is the one supporting my firstborn, not the biological dad.

My question is --
Is it possible for my firstborn to use my partner's last name even if he's not the biological father? If so, what are the procedures and how much would it cost us to process the whole thing?

Thanks and God bless!

I think he has to adopt the child. Check the domestic adoption law

Thanks.. Yes that's what we have in mind. Since the biological father is not anywhere present from day 1 up until now, and his consent is not required anymore, what are the process of legally adopting the kid? Me and my partner is not yet married.

There is no declaration that "he' is the Father, right? So sino ang hihingan nyo ng consent.
