My wife has illegitimate son. The biological father is not on birth certificate of the child. Can I adopt him? The child is now 7 years old. The father didn't support the child roughly 6 years. My wife tried to live in with him before we met for a year but it didn't work out.
Do we still need to get his consent for this? His name is not on the Birth Certificate nor no signature at the back of it that assures he is the father.
Or do we still need to file Affidavit of Abandonment to prove that the father abandon the child.
