I'm 21 yrs old and in all of my IDs ( sss, pag-ibig, tin, philhealth etc....) and documents ( academics) Ive been using my stepfather's surname but it turns out po na in my birth certificate my surname is under my biological father.

These are what I do know
- my bio-father and mother weren't married.
- I was really registered under my biological father's surname
- my stepfather and mother get married and my stepfather wants us ( me and my brother) to use his surname kaya nagpa late registration po sila ng birth certificate namin under na po his surname which is lumabas naman po sa NSO before (i think around 2009 nung kumuha kami) pero last week kumuha kami ulit hindi na po ma trace ang pina late registration at ang lumalabas ay yung sa biological father ko.

My concern is, is it best if I just make all my documents be changed into my biological father's or if I changed my birth certificate into my stepfather's? And what are the step to do so?

Please help. I don't know where I should consult this anymore.

yan na nga bang sabi ko,
isa rin ako sa mga nagpapayo ng late registration na yan eh....
tik....
pero explain ko naman, na its only a way of circumventing the written law, its flaws and leniency.
so yan, ang dami tuloy problema sa Late Registration.

oh eto,
since 21 ka na, pwede ka na magpachance name
pero dadaan to sa legal procedures,
tingin ko dapat yong totoong tatay ang nakalagay at yun ang dala mo,,
legacy nya yan,
kung ako tatay, lalaban ako ng pukpukan ng itlog, para sa name apelyido ko.

I've never seen my bio-father ever since he and my mother part ways po. Mas magiging madali po ba ang process if I just change all of my credentials to my bio-fathers's rather if I change my birth certificate into my stepfather's?

ano papers mo para sabihing sya ang bio pader mo?
kung wala, eh di go k na lang ke step-

Can you give me the process on how to legally change my surname into my stepfather's? And how much will it cost? Thank you so much.

facts: BC have Bio father
other docs have Step father.

if you want to change your BC, then madugo to,
una, disprove muna na di c bio ang tatay, or c step ang tatay, which is di totoo,
then acknowledge ni step, affidavit,,
then update sa local registrar, then annotated sa NSO...

or pwede ganito.
adopt ka ni step father, since wala n c pader, declare nyo missing ang presumed death,
para di na need ng consent nya..
upon adoption, kasama dito yong change name..

hindi tanong sa case mo ang cost, ang tanong eh process.

Dagdag ko lang po. Baka makatulong.
In general, the government as I understand it honors the 1st NSO certified BC.
A petition has to be filed in court to cancel the other one.
Filing is done in the munisipyo or city where you were born.
This requires a representation from a lawyer.
You may ask for further info from the office of the civil registrar where you are registered.

since your surname in your 1st birth certificate is your biological father's surname, yon ang gamitin mo.

Hindi mo na kailangang dumaan sa court process.

Mag-eexecute ka lang ng affidavit na yong totoo mong name ay yong nasa birth certificate mo. Tapos ipa-update mo lahat ng records mo na ang nakalagay yong lastname ng stepfather mo.

Dahil gusto kayong kupkupin ng stepfather mo, pwede kayo i-adopt niya.
