Hello,

The mother of my in-laws has passed away and is a major shareholder of a university in the PI.

We are located in America.

We would like to know what the law states about inheritance in the absence of a will.

Where should we start in the process of claiming this money.

All help is greatly appreciated!

It depends at things as:
Is her husband alive?
Any documents saying she and husband didn't own equal parts?
How many children does she have together with the husband?
Do any of them have kids except them they have together?
Is anyone trying to take more than they are entitled to?

You see there are several parameters Smile so you can need a lawyer,
but IF it's the simplest cases I'm RATHER sure it's like this:
/Husband alive: He get halv plus as big share of the other half as each child get.
/Husband dead: Each child get equal share.
