Hello everyone. Im an expat in Dubai. I recently renewed my passport and i changed my last name by hyphenating my husband's last name to my family name. My passport is ready for pick up now but i have not claimed it yet. I changed my mind and would like to use my husband's last name only. My passport is the first identification i have changed my last name since my marriage 10 months ago. Is there any ruling by DFA on dropping the hyphen from the last name after issuance of the same just a week ago? Thanks for reading any help would be appreciated.

You can write an affidavit to them then approach the Embassy in Dubai and explain about it and bring your birth certificate and your marriage contract as supporting documents. There are some fees but they should be able to do it!

Actually ung new passport ko is ready for pick up na from consulate as of oct 26 pero i am still gathering some info on how to do a name change after a name change. My new passport is already showing my new last name na hyphenated. Na gusto ko ngaun ipabago at ipatanggal ang hyphen to simply show my husbands last name na lng.
