we've been renting on our house since 1980. we are renting the land, house was built by us..the owner died this year so her daughter is now managing the rental business.
we know that there is a bill about an annual 7% increase on the rental fee but the the daughter of the owner is now giving us a contract where it is stated that by january 2015, on top of the annaul 7% increase on the rental fee, we also need to give them 1 month advance and 1 month deposit.
it sounds stupid because we know that is required if you are renting for the first time, not if you've been on the lot for more than 30 years.
there is no problem giving them what they were asking but we need to make sure that they have legal basis. we need to get the exact bill or law which supports their stupidity or else we won't comply and take proper actions about it if they insist.
