Good day!

Need lang po ng legal advice. I am currently working as a school nurse in a private school here in Batangas. We are required to work Monday to Saturday. From Monday to Friday eh 9 hours a day so bale 8 hours kasi bawas ang lunch. Now we already rendered 40 hours from Monday to Friday. Ung satuday di ba po dapat eh overtime pay na? Please help. Please enlighten me.

What does your contract say?

The overtime "rule" says work after 8 hours is considered overtime. So if you do not work over 8 hours in a day then there is no overtime there.

As to Saturday - the only thing in the Labor Code that may be referred to is that you are entitled to 1 day (24 hrs) rest:

It shall be the duty of every employer, whether operating for profit or not, to provide each of his employees a rest period of not less than twenty-four (24) consecutive hours after every six (6) consecutive normal work days.
