need legal advice

need ko po sana ng advice with my problem, i was working in a office as an i.t. the story goes like this. i have a friend that i handed a laptop to be pawned to help her child that was so sick that time, so she can get her child to the hospital because she has no money that time and she agreed to get the laptop after 3 days when her money comes, but things got wrong and i never saw her again and the laptop never got returned, so i lied to the office thinking i can still get the laptop buying time to look for her, but never got the laptop but i have still contact with her saying that she will return the laptop, until now that's always her promise, i now told this to the office to seek help by telling the truth now, i know i have fault in this, it's right for the office director to be angry with me because this is really my fault, i already did a blotter to my friend and i was dismiss on work because of this and did a promissory letter to pay the laptop monthly until fully paid, now my problem is the office is now after me that the director does not agree with the deal and after a month that i am dismiss of work they found out that there are things missing at the office and they are putting it at me. my wife is scared that the police may just arrest me for these. can i have an advice for this. many thanks
