This happened to me before while buying my plane ticket online. It took 30 days before I was able to get back the money (debit card). The problem is that there are lots of things to consider with system glitch. It may be their front end server, their service provider, your service provider, network (yours/the other party). Any drop/time out caused by these can cancel the verification process. There is nothing you can do about it since this is a known issue when buying stuff online. The only thing you can do is to file a dispute to your credit card company/bank. They will know if the transaction is posted or not. It may be charged but not posted. That's all about it.
