Pls help I need some legal advice, my problem started year 2011, my business partner & I open a checking account for a certain business & she is the principal account holder, there are instances that she asked from me blank signed checks, in good faith I issued her signed checks, but she was not able to fund our account and continiously pay her obligations, she was sued by the lending company & there's an incident when a collection agency hired by the lending company go to our house and threathens me even in text messages, they told me that they will confiscate my car & properties & I will be put in jail, I told them that what they are doing to me is a form of harassment, from then on they just send me demand letter at least 2x to 1x a year but I'm not accepting it or anyone from our household & return it to the postman.

Am I equally liable with the case of my business partner? According to my friend, who was used by my business partner as her guarantor/witnessed when receiving the money from the financing, the lending company also filed a case against us during their last conversation, but I have not received any letter from the court, what harm they can do to me? Can they arrest me? How will I defend my self?

I'm so stressed & afraid, i want peace of mind, specially in my case that Im pregnant & I don't know how to contact my business partner. I don't even want to face or talk to the lending company.

Pls I need some legal advise.

Thank you very much!

It's a joint account, so you might be jointly and severally liable.
