hi! i just want to ask if an employee who does not follow/declines a direct order (via text message, no memo and not in the policy) from a supervisor is considered gross insubordination? do i have the right to decline since it is not in the company policy and no memo was given?

Was the direct order work-related, valid and not illegal?

what was the order? if it's part of your work, then yes it's insubordination.
