Clarification Re: Section 3 of Maceda Law

Simple and quick question lang po.
This is regarding Section 3 of the Maceda Law. Just yesterday, I submitted a notice of cancellation of contract to my developer. This is because I lost my job and won't be able to continue paying. We have made 25 monthly payments before this.

My question is regarding the phrase in Section 3 which says, ''... in case he defaults in the payment of succeeding installments..."

Does this mean that I won't qualify for a refund since we cancelled the contract voluntarily? Please clarify.

I would appreciate your response regarding this matter.

Thanks in advance.
