aceking wrote:Hi, I am currently employed in a call center/ BPO company. Previously, all of us are excused for being absent whenever we have immediate family members who become sick so long as we are able to prove it, e.g., presenting a valid med cert. Now however, our operations manager is saying that they won't allow those instances to be excused, meaning, we can be issued a corrective action form, which could lead up to termination. Is there no provision in our Labor Law that those absences be excused, like caring for a minor son or daughter, or wife or husband? What if no one is able to care for them during those times. Are we supposed to leave them to suffer/ die and still come to work or else lose our source of income? Pls help. I can understand if they will take away our "bonus" privileges or perks because of those scenarios but to possibly be terminated seems unfair.
