thanks for the response HR Adviser. just a follow-up question.

if the company is already doing it once a month, what should the employees do so that they will convert it to a bi-monthly scheme? the company is reasoning out that it was already stated in the job contract and we signed/agreed to it.

Was the method of payment specifically stated in the contract that the salary would be paid once a month?

The LC also states "No employer shall make payment with less frequency than once a month."

Yes, the method of payment of once a month is stated in the job contract.

Yes, I also saw that statement.  But just to clarify, isn't this statement applicable only for the force majeure or circumstances beyond the employer's control?

Art. 103. Time of payment. Wages shall be paid at least once every two (2) weeks or
twice a month at intervals not exceeding sixteen (16) days. If on account of force
majeure or circumstances beyond the employer’s control, payment of wages on or within
the time herein provided cannot be made, the employer shall pay the wages immediately after such force majeure or circumstances have ceased. No employer shall make
payment with less frequency than once a month.

no, it's applicable to all, it should be twice a month.

what is stated there is if time of force majeure and the employer can not make payment on the specified date, it can give the payroll immediately after the force majeure. Example, if your pay day is Jan. 15, and ther was a strong typhoon, then they can give the payroll after the typhoon, specially if banks are closed.
