How to check out if a lawyer is good or not?

I've contacted one thru Sulit. Has been responsive so far to my questions which also checked out but he doesn't seem to have an office and prefers to meet in a public cafe for dealings.

I'd like to check out his credentials before meeting him but what he gave me was only a roll number.

Does anyone have any advice or could refer a trustworthy lawyer on real estate? With office or not, as long as has a clean record, and offers affordable services.
