Thank God I was able to find this forum. I was up all night reading case studies regarding my question.

Here's my story.. I am employed by Company A who has a sister company who is Company B. They are now merging and will be using their old company name. They have a given us a resignation letter for company A which we need to sign and a new contract for which will be for Company AB. Everything will be carried over including our tenureship from company A to company AB.

But I am just curious if I should be getting any separation pay because technically Company A will no longer exist. Thank you.

If your length of service will be carried over to company B, you are not entitled to separation pay.

Just be cautious that all benefits and tenure will be carried same from company A to your company B, by this NO SEPARATION PAY due to you.
