Hello Atty. Isa ako empleyado ng isang school, More than 10 years na ako dito.

Ito ang policy ng school: pag may official announcement na walang pasok mga students kasi may bagyo (pero hindi signal #3),

1) lahat kami empleyado ay required pumasok 8am-5:00 pm. Papasok naman kami kasi sayang ang sweldo. Pag naging worst ang weather condition, pauuwiin kami lahat,

2) or suspended na office namin. meaning, hindi na kami pupunta ng office.

For both situations above, i-deduct or charge sa leave credit namin.. Meron bang law regarding this situation? Parang hindi naman ata maganda ito Atty lalo na kung nasa school na kami saka mg-suspend sa employees. This is their practice for so many years now.

The policy in the Labor Code is no work no pay. Some private employers adopt the policy of crediting absences due to calamities to the employees' VL or SL. Consider yourself lucky.

Of course you would be luckier if you had calamity leave. Discuss this in your next CBA negotiations.
