Issued 2 bouncing checks

greetings! i just want to ask about a demand letter to pay from a lending institution with whom i had a loan, paid pdc but the last 2 checks bounced. i had lost work, and had financial difficulty at the time. was not able to settle. up to now even if i found work, what i earn is even less than what i need. i cannot make a settlement agreement as i cannot afford to pay it.

please advise what is the worst that i can expect of their legal action. when i can afford it, i will pay but as of now, i can't do it even if i wanted to. what case can they file against me? what is the worst case scenario? how long is the process?
