Sen. Grace Poe has filed a bill requiring all government communications to be written in Plain Language. Her bill is commendable and long overdue. Since the 1980's, more than 20 countries have adopted Plain Language as official government policy. For example, the US has its Plain Writing Act of 2010. Also, all US Federal Rules of Court since 1998 have been restyled using Plain Language.
