Hi..I have a 3 year old child with a married man. We were in abroad when i got pregnant and went back to the Philippines to give birth. After learning that i will stay in the Philippines for good with my son, he brought his wife and kids in abroad. He’s an executive of a five star hotel. He promised that he will send money monthly for my child’s need but that’s only a promise. I have a job but is not enough to answer to all my child’s need. Is there a law that gives my child the right to be supported by his father regularly? Is it also possible for us to have an agreement? What are the processes to be done example the requirements needed especially that he is in abroad? Please advise.
Thanks a lot and more power.

do you have written proof that he acknowledged your child? did he sign the birth certificate?

an illegitimate child is entitled to support under the Family Code. it is best to have the support agreement in writing.

here are examples of child support agreements: http://www.csa.gov.au/parentsandcarers/childSupportAgreements.aspx

a demand letter is just a letter demanding from the recipient to comply with his legal obligations. you can write it yourself or pay a lawyer to do it for you.
