Surrendering my Driver's License to enter a subdivision

Do I have the right to surrender an alternative valid ID when entering a subdivision? The guard is always saying it is the subdivision's policy. Problem is when I forget to claim my driver's license and continuously drive without it.

You could try to negotiate for it but if they will not allow, you cannot argue with it or else, they wouldn't allow you to enter
