What do you mean dealing with case law? Do you mean dealing with them in pleadings? Research? Or as case assignmetns from your classes?

Find out what major subject the case is assigned for. Example a case was assigned for Political law for immunity of suit topic. Then go immediately to the last portions of the case to get the ruling of the SC on the topic, then work your way back to get the issue then finally get the facts. I dunno case to case basis. Kanyakanyang style.
Getting case assignments done through a work group is also an option.
Search the case through the internet, baka may nakadigest na.
Take note nothing beats reading the original text sabi nga ng mga prof pero syempre study smart din.
