I would like to seek advice if it is within my rights to file acomplaint against an abusive businessman who owns a wood working business, making children's playground equipment for Day care centers, etc. We live in a compound which had been inherited by my landlord and his older sister. they have divided the property equally between them and my landlord opted to rent out part of his. The part I am occupying now. There's a common driveway, and the front half of the compound is owned by the sister. wherein lives her son who owns the business. They are now using the driveway as their shop, complete with all their tools and equipment like power saw, air compressor, etc. Everyday, they cut, sand, and paint wooden components. So the saw dust, the paint, the varnish, and the vapor of rugby adhesive is in the air we breathe. And I fear for our health.
Is there a law against these types of business operating in residential areas? Even my landlord is encouraging me to file a complaint with the barangay as he is embarassed to do it as they are his relatives.
Please help me. Let me know of options available without me having to move to another place as I kind of like this place, being quiet, not prone to crime activities, very accessible.
