Hi. I recently got married and i want to use both my maiden name and my husband's surname. I know I am allowed by law but I am having a hard time changing my name in SSS. They are only allowing me 2 options 1)use my maiden name or 2)use my husband's name.
Please advice on what actions i should do. I haven't proceeded to the other gov't departments yet as i want my records to be consistent and i cant even fix it with SSS.
Thank you very much

it's going to be a tough fight because i think it's a limitation of their computer system. but legally, you are allowed to do it:

Under Article 370 of the Civil Code, a married woman may use:
-Her maiden first name and surname and add her husband's surname or,
-Her maiden first name and her husband's surname or
-Her husband's full name, but prefixing a word indicating that she is his wife, such as Mrs.
