My employer issued a canon dslr camera to me for documentation of company marketing activities. I take the initiative to find out who the theft is and reported it to the police station. The company told me to just let go of what happened. And now they wanted me to pay for it. Is it fair for me to pay for the whole amount of the camera while the theft happened inside our office? Our office doesnt even have a working cctv camera.

you don't have to agree to pay for it. but if it was placed in an unsecured location, imo, that was negligence.
